Veteran songwriter, recording artist Wendy Vickers is one of the early pioneers of contemporary Christian music. Her album "Sow A Seed" gained national attention with its unique blend of styles from folk rock, to country, blues, worship and praise and was hailed as 'ground breaking' at the time. The title track of "Sow A Seed" as well as "Holy, Holy", "Glory to God" and "Go In Peace" are still widely used today in churches, schools, liturgies and in a variety of media and film. Additional tracks from the album, "High Time" and "Get On Board", became crossover successes that went on to the Billboard® Country Charts, exhibiting the wide appeal of this unusual collection of songs. The album was also Grammy® nominated and a number of the songs covered by other artists.
Wendy was originally managed by the late Sid Bernstein and toured nationally and internationally in stadiums, college concerts, television and radio, also appearing at The Troubadour in L.A., The Bitter End, Music Hall, and The Smiling Dog with Tim Buckley, Lonnie Mack, Peter Noonan and Sam The Sham, among many others. She was signed to several record labels including Certron Records in Nashville with Johnny Paycheck by Aubrey Mayhew, and was also a co:writer with the late Walter E. "Jack" Rollins. Her "Wendy Vickers In Concert" that aired on WCET/PBS television in the seventies was part of a six part series produced by Ron Wilson which was nominated for an Emmy.
Wendy Vickers' latest album "RUN", a tribute to The World Race and international missions, is slated for release in 2017.
